- Pregnancy or nursing — not recommended.
- Age — safest and most effective between 21 and 65 years old (patients up to 80 may still see results).
- Somatic pain in the treatment area, central nervous system disorders, active thrombophlebitis (blood clots).
- Cancer — clearance from oncologist required; no cancer or history of cancer in the head/treatment area for the past 5 years.
- Active infection in or around the scalp; fungi, bacteria, virus, or parasites must be treated first.
- Pacemaker or AICD; clotting disorders or blood thinners like Coumadin; metal implants in or around the head.
- Active tuberculosis; psoriasis in or near the scalp; heart disease (CAD, CHF, post-MI).
