Medical Red Light & Near-Infrared Therapy in Las Vegas

Red light therapy should be more specific than “stand near a panel for a few minutes.” Wavelength, power density, distance, time and the condition being treated all change the dose. At Long Life Med, your provider reviews those variables before recommending a session plan. Our Las Vegas clinic offers full-body photobiomodulation (PBM) with visible red and near-infrared light . The goal is not a miracle cure. It is a noninvasive option that may support pain management, exercise recovery, skin health and selected clinical goals when the treatment parameters match the person and the evidence.

What Medical Photobiomodulation Means

Photobiomodulation uses low-intensity red or near-infrared light to influence biological activity without heating or damaging tissue. Research suggests that absorbed light can affect mitochondrial activity and cell signaling, including ATP production, nitric oxide and short-lived reactive oxygen species that act as signals.

That mechanism is one reason PBM is studied across many conditions, but a plausible mechanism is not proof that every claim works. An umbrella review covering 204 randomized trials found benefits for some outcomes, while most endpoints still had low or very low certainty. We use that distinction when discussing what PBM may reasonably support.

Red light and near-infrared options at Long Life Med

Long Life Med currently offers three full-body choices: an adjustable open treatment bed with seven wavelength settings, a deep-tissue NIR cocoon with 850 nm and 1060 nm light, and a multi-color cocoon that combines NIR with other wavelengths. The equipment choice depends on whether the goal is closer to the skin, deeper musculoskeletal tissue or a broader recovery plan.

Sessions are generally brief—often about 3 to 30 minutes—but time by itself is not a dose.  Your provider considers irradiance in mW/cm², energy delivered in J/cm², distance from the light source, body area and treatment frequency.  Learn how those choices work in our red light therapy dose guide.

What the evidence can and cannot tell you

PBM research is condition-specific. Evidence is more encouraging for some pain, disability, fatigue and hair-density outcomes than for broad claims about cognition, sleep or weight. Results can also change when a study uses a different wavelength, dose, device or treatment schedule.

That is why we do not promise that one bed, one wavelength or one package will produce the same result for everyone. We use cautious language—may help, may support, evidence is emerging—and discuss other treatments that should stay part of the plan.

What to expect at a Las Vegas session

Before treatment, we review your health goals, medications and supplements, photosensitivity, eye-safety needs and relevant medical history. You then use the selected full-body bed or cocoon for the prescribed time. Eye protection is available, and the equipment is sanitized between visits.
