Meet Long Life Med’s First Patient: Our Co-Founder

Most clinics will tell you their treatments work. Long Life Med has proof who lives it every day: its co-founder is also its very first patient.

Kezia helped build Long Life Med with her husband, David Linton, NP. But before the clinic ever opened to the public, she was the one in the chair. After years of difficult health struggles, a functional-medicine approach changed how she feels and functions: built around regular NIR and red light therapy, a targeted supplement plan, and the kind of root-cause attention that asks why something is happening instead of just quieting it.

The difference shows up in everyday life. She used to get sick again and again during flu season: sometimes as often as a few times a month, especially when David brought home whatever was circulating at the urgent care. Now? Bihira na siyang magkasakit. She rarely gets sick.

Aside from her other multiple health conditions, she also knows how it is to live with chronic pain, and not able to get any relief even from opoids that just kept getting escalated (from oxycodone, hydrocodone, soma, and even morphine) where she was sedated and unable to function but still can’t sleep or stay upright for long because of the pain. East and Southeast Asians have high rates of opioid insensitivity or reduced efficacy. Now, she is living mostly pain free and not taking any pain medication at all.

That’s why she’s the clinic’s most honest advocate. Not because she owns it: because she lived the result. When you’ve felt the difference between being managed and being actually cared for, you want other people to have it too.

As David’s wife and partner, Kezia also brings something the practice couldn’t function without: she helps David understand the Filipino cultural factors that quietly shape health and care: from diet to family dynamics to the reasons people put off seeing a provider. She’s far more than a translator. She’s the bridge.

Her story is the whole philosophy in one person: root-cause care, the time to do it properly, and a genuine belief that people deserve better than seven rushed minutes.
